High Flying Fish

David and I went to the beach with the youth for Wed. night joint activity. Everyone was to bring their own kite and have fun flying them in the sky. Our day had been filled with every hour scheduled so we squeezed in a few minutes between appointments to go by the closest store which happen to be Bi-lo and pick up a kite to take to the beach. Our choices were limited but we decided the fishy one would be a good one for the beach. (It was your original kite with the cute little tail. ) It turned out we picked a good one or maybe David is a pro at kite flying!

He quickly put it together and had it flying up up and way high! His continued to be the highest kite of the evening! (The breezy beach air was cold so I was glad I brought my jacket along. )David was fine and did not hesitate to put his barefeet right in the sand.

Suming up Spring Break

Spring break was so refreshing. I loved seeing all the beautiful flowers at the temple. (Sure hope they are that pretty in July when Jacob and Brittany get married.)

Always such a happy experience by everyone.
We had fun dying our eggs. (Somehow our egg dye didn't work exactly right- the dye seemed to rub right off some of the eggs! I said I needed to do a little research on my egg dye next year)
We really liked the egg wraps though that helped make some of our eggs look better.

Jean even had the table all festive for our Easter Lunch. The warm spring sunshine and air (minus all the pollen) was so nice. I can now count down the days until summer break!

Nice surprise

I was so happy today to have Will come home for a night. He was really doing a good deed and bringing something from Columbia to his Dad but any reason to come home is good with me. I loved getting to fix him his favorite breakfast. ( Oh, I did give David a little too!) It was nice to have him at church with us and we enjoyed dinner today. Hopefully next time he can stay longer and we can enjoy the beautiful beach weather.

Anyone for Grits and bacon?
Come on down and your bed and breakfast will be waiting for you!

He leads and loves our family and finds strength to do what needs to be done even during the difficult times. We are blessed to have him in our lives. He is a great Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son, Friend and last but not least...Bishop!

Birthday wishes for Chloe and Jared

Jared and his Dad always celebrate birthdays 3 days apart and now Jared and his little girl Chloe do the same.
Here are a few of my favorite memories of Jared....

He had the cutest little chubby cheeks

His first "cool" hair

The days at the ballgame
The Teenage big hair days

His first ukelele

Our trip to the mountainsFinding Kristen
Becoming the best Daddy

I think it is coming

Just a few more days and spring will arrive. I always look forward to Jared's birthday b/c it usually falls on the first day of spring. Glad that I am working on recovering from all the congestion and sickness that seemed to have taken over my life for the last while. Antibiotics, inhaler and allergy meds are just not any fun but sure grateful for them to get the body back to normal.
Spring break is arriving in a week and what a great break from school and work that will be. David and I like to count down the days! I look forward to walks on the beach with the sun shining down and the waves rolling against the sand. I am sure I will stop and find a new shell or two. Ohh... the pleasure of those outings. My little grands are already asking can they come to the beach and swim and play. The ocean is sure the nicest advantage for living here and offers such free entertainment and pleasure.
I also look forward to the spritual renewal that spring brings as we have the opportunity to view General Conference in April. We are so priviledged to listen to the messages of Prophets and Apostles for 2 days. It renews my soul and always gives me the desire to do better and be better. As we celebrate Easter I also reflect on how much I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and how thankful I am for our Heavenly Father who gave his only begotten son so that we might be able to be forgiven for all the mistakes we make and return to our home above one day. I am grateful for my testimony of the gospel. I am grateful for my beautiful family and for you!
I hope you are looking foward to Spring too and that it will bring you the warm sunshine and happy days that you need!

Raindrops

I am sitting at work as the rain just pours outside. I could think it is a gloomy, gray, dreary day or I could think it is just watering the ground so soon the beautiful green grass and the flowers and warm sun will shine down on us. I think I will go with the latter....how about you?
